The project Small Business and Economic Development of Ivano-Frankivsk was started in 1996 in the framework of the Canadian governmental program of technical assistance to Ukraine designed to last till 2001. Funding of US $5 million is provided by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The project is implemented by the Confederation College of the town of Tander Bay, University of Saskatchewan, University of Waterloo, and Parkland community economic development organization from the Canadian side and Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration and City Council from the Ukrainian side.
