The institute worked out a number of priority scientific problems, which are of great importance for Ukrainian and world traumatology and orthopaedy. The institute worked out a method of complex surgical treatment of rheutotoid arthritis, prophylaxis method and treatment of degenerative dystrophic affection of joints. A complex of measures to treat osteomyelitis patients was implemented there for the first time in Ukraine. Spinal column illnesses and complicated traumas are successfully treated.
The institute has a clinical base for 400 places where nearly 300 patients a year are treated.
