LTD "Ukrainskaya promishlennost'" (factory of quartz glass) - one of the cores in Ukraine the specialized enterprises on manufacture of products from transparent and opaque quartz glass. Is in the Kharkov area.

First production has let out in 1998. The factory has practically all process equipment on manufacture of industrial marks of transparent quartz glass known in the world. In all the ends of Russia and the CIS countries sends production. Its basic consumers - the enterprises of the electronic, electrotechnical, aerospace, medical, biological industry, rare semi-conductor materials, a communication facility, instrument making, atomic engineering and many other things.

Tubes and rods of quartz glass

Tubes form the bulk of quartz glass production.

The tubes produced measure:
5 to 300 mm in diameter,
up to 2,200 mm long.

Tubes and rods are manufactured by thermoforming of gas or vacuum melted quartz glass.

The tubing material is of high chemical purity, high-temperature strength, crystallisation resistance, with a low thermal expansion coefficient. Quartz tubes will withstand extreme temperature fluctuations of up to 1,000-1,200°C and can be used in acid and neutral environment at a temperature of up to 1,250°C. Quartz glass is resistant to all acids with the exception of HF and phosphoric acid.

Quartz tubes are used for pipelines in chemical and food-processing industries, for transportation of corrosive liquids and gases, as a structural component in a majority of devices, as blanks for manufacturing chemical vessels and instruments of various functions.

Type KU-1 optical blanks

Foreign-made equivalents:
4040 (Japan)
Spectrasil (England)
Suprasil (Germany)
Tetrasil (France)
Corning 7940; GE -151, Dunnasil (USA)

The optical blank quality performance is regulated by GOST 15130-86 standard "Optical Quartz Glass":
Optical quartz glass, transparent in UV visible light, without absorption bands in the wavelength range of 170 to 250 nm, with a strong absorption band in the wavelength range of 2,600 to 2,800 nm, non-luminescent, optical radiation resistant It is produced in a high-temperature hydrolitic degradation process using ultra pure silicon tetrachloride. Type KU-1 quartz glass is produced in the form of blanks shaped as discs or rectangular wafers delimited by parallel surfaces measuring:
up to 400 mm in diameter or diagonal,
up to 50 mm thick.

Manufacturing process: high-temperature hydrolitic degradation of SiCl4 using oxyhydrogen flame.
Total metal admixtures ? 1 x 10-4;
OH impurities (0.1 - 0.2), chlorine (1- 3) x 10-2.

Quartz plates

Quartz plates are manufactured by melting quartz crystal grit in a continuous one-stage process involving drawing through a moulding element called Duse (German for nozzle).

The resulting plate dimensions:
width up to 300 mm,
length up to 1,200 mm,
thickness up to 8 mm.

It is also possible to make polished quartz plates from received quartz plate in accordance with coordinated size of the customer.
